The village is located at the western side of Syros, 9 kilometers from Hermoupolis. It is a picturesque fishing village by the sea. When you reach the Monastery of Saint Barbara(famous for its wefts), you will see an enchanting panoramic view of the village.
The main road will lead you to the beach. It is considered the most organized beach of the island for some years now, with sunbeds and parasols. The sea is crystal clear and if you stay until sundown you will see the sun disappear in it. The beach is full of restaurants and cafes. There is also a bakery and a mini market in the village.
Kini also has a small aquarium, that was created for educational reasons. It has many different kinds of fish that are found in the seas of Syros.
From Kini you can take a small boat and visit the magical beaches of Apano Meria(north side of the island). Lia, Grammata, Varvarousa and Aetos are some of them.
Leaving the central beach of the village, you can head for Delfini(=Dolphin). The road is narrow and difficult at some points but don’t change your mind and stop. After one kilometer you will be rewarded by the beauty of the beach. You will also find a a restaurant and a beach bar with incredible view.
When you leave Kini you will come to a detour, that after 500 meters leads to Lotos. This is a small but beautiful beach, where the sun, especially in the afternoon, dives in the crystal blue water.
